Reading, United Kingdom – 12th of January, 2017 – The GAZT project took the Gold SAP Quality Award for 2016 in the Business Transformation category following the successful implementation of Tax and Revenue Management solution by Invenio. The project started in 2014, as a part of a three year plan to develop and modernise the Zakat and Tax Automation System.
The SAP Quality Awards acknowledge and distinguish customers who have excelled in the implementation of SAP software solutions. The main requirement was to use SAP’s ten quality principles to complete an effective, fast, low cost implementation, with simplified business processes and deliver significant business benefits to the organisation. Through becoming a Gold Winner in MENA, GAZT’s nomination will automatically proceed to the regional SAP EMEA Quality Awards 2016, which will be shortlisted this month.
Invenio was chosen to lead the implementation of the GAZT project, after a comprehensive selection process, competing with companies such as Oracle and Bull SAS, the incumbent system providers. The project was a challenge due to the poor quality of data and the need for extensive training of 1200 tax officers. Ten GAZT offices across Saudi Arabia went live at the same time, just a month before the tax collection peak period, which required fast and precise teamwork. However, both GAZT and Invenio had a high level of confidence in the system, which handled the peak load comfortably and the tax collection targets were achieved.
Now that the system has been updated, GAZT tax officers no longer have to process paper-based returns, as these were successfully transferred to the new system leading to faster and more accurate processing. Through the completion of this project, the Tax and Revenue Management solution became the first system in the world where a tax return system is available across all mobile devices.
Invenio’s Managing Director, Partho Bhattacharya, commented: “We are happy to hear that our customer, GAZT, received this prestigious award. Congratulations and thank you for the opportunity to work together. We hope that our future projects will gain the same success. In 2017 we will continue with the hard work through following our main value of being committed to our customers.”
