Control your maverick spend with Invenio’s SAP Procure-to-Pay Solution

Join Invenio Business Solutions at eWorld Procurement & Supply to understand how to increase visibility across spend

UK, 25th February 2016 – Gaining greater visibility across spend will be a hot topic at the upcoming eWorld Procurement & Supply event, on 2nd March at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in London. Join Invenio Business Solutions at 12.45pm in the Albert Room, Level 2, to hear from Kedar Patwardhan, Account Director, on how you can control your maverick spend with Invenio’s SAP Procure-to-Pay Solution.

In today’s world, organisations need to empower employees to make important purchasing decisions; however, it cannot be at the cost of internal controls. While SAP is a great tool for internal controls, some organisations find it inflexible and too cumbersome to use. During his speaker slot, Kedar will provide tips on how you could find the right balance to utilise the strength of SAP in a very flexible, user-friendly tool.

During the session, you can expect to:

  • Learn how a large media company has successfully implemented a single procure-to-pay solution across the globe
  • Learn how you can control your maverick spend and increase complete visibility across the process
  • How to get your buyers to ‘love SAP’ with a multi-platform, user-friendly Procurement solution

Annual Offsite 2015 – Enjoy. Interact. Learn. Celebrate.

retreatAway from the hustle and bustle of city life, amongst the peaceful and serene environment, Invenio’s Annual Offsite 2015 took place.

Invenio’s Mumbai and Delhi offices conducted their Annual Offsite’s at the Mystic Valley Resort, Igatpuri and Heritage Village, Manesar respectively.

It was a 2 day event, where all the employees gathered to get to know each other and to share in their happiness and achievements.

We started off the event with a few motivational and informative speech by visionaries. Our management team shared their experiences and their journey with Invenio so far, they spoke about our projects and prospective clients, they shared the vision of Invenio and our future plans, and they also answered any queries raised by staff directly at an open forum.

Post the speech, we distributed awards and certificates and also introduced new incentives for Shine. Thereafter we went ahead with the inauguration of our ETS website.

After the ceremony we dispersed for lunch and then moved onto team building activities carried out by the TAB, outbound trainers. The games were not just physically tiring but they also taught us how a team should operate. Young and old, both had fun and participated in all the games and activities arranged.

A little later, after all the exertion, the entire night and the floor was jazzed up to the beats of Bollywood numbers and everybody enjoyed dancing to the rhythm of our DJ.

The next day was again a bright sunny day, we got to spend time by the pool side. Everyone had a great time playing cricket and chilling out.

That was then followed by lunch and thereafter we started our journey back home, with all the beautiful memories of our Annual offsite.

Thus, the theme “Enjoy. Interact. Learn. Celebrate” was thoroughly fulfilled.

Invenio’s 2015 Annual Retreats!

After a busy 2014 and a progressive start to 2015, The Invenio Management Team welcomed the opportunity to indulge their staff members to some fun and relaxation at two annual retreats.

The first retreat was held in February at the palatial Mystic Valley Resort in Maharashtra and the second in April was held at the stunning Heritage Village Resort and Spa.

retreatcBoth events kicked off with a welcome meeting where everyone settled down and swiftly moved onto an awards and leadership talk. Leadership messages were given from:

Partho Bhattacharya, Managing Director

Arun Bala, Chief Operating Officer

Manish Goyal, Chief Financial Officer

Naveen Agarwal, Chief Technical Officer

After the talks, lunch was given and then the groups participated in some indoor and outdoor team building activities.

Once the activities were over, guests were invited back to their rooms to prepare for the Gala dinner and LATE night partying. We need say no more!

Give a Man a Fish and He Will Live for a Day. Teach Him to Fish and He Will Live a Lifetime.

Invenio Supports The Sharnam Sansthan Charity.

This October, during Diwali, the Invenio Team took the opportunity to support the Sharnam Sansthan charity in Dharavi, India. Sharnam is a part of the CORP Community Outreach Program and provides shelter, food, education and helps create a better future to abandoned and orphaned girls.
IMG_0679The charity currently house 36 girls with an age group ranging from 3 to 22 years. They have 20 centres in 13 different underprivileged neighbourhoods.  The motto for CORP and their vision for the future is “Give a man a fish and he will live for a day. Teach him to fish and he will live a lifetime”.

Invenio and its hearted team managed to raise INR 22,890 (£233.74) for the charity. The team rolled their sleeves up and joined hands to make this a successful charity push, it has been really wonderful to see how everyone from Invenio’s Indian team came forward to contribute for this cause and the funds have already been put to good use.

Part of the fund has been used to provide essentials for the orphan girl which should last up to 2 months such as rice, dal, oil, sugar and toiletries. Some of Invenio’s staff personally went to deliver the gifts to the charity. The team had the privilege of spending some valuable time with the children and the care taker of the shelter.

The rest of the fund has been extended to our team in Hyderabad.  They are running a drive to support the relief measures of the government for the HUD HUD affected people in the Andhra Belt. The donations will reach out to the people of Andhra who have had to face innumerable hardships because of this natural calamity.

Invenio, SAP and a Procurement Summit. An Excellent Combination

Cost reduction remains the number one priority for the majority of organisations today, but some procurement and finance operations have some way to go before they achieve their goals. Across many industries, procurement is central and as the UK economy continues to grow, organisational transformations continue too.

He will discuss how companies using SAP can dramatically reduce administrative expenditure by up to 50% by shifting their suppliers to a self-service model with a P2P solution built on SAP itself, thus leveraging full benefits of SAP integration as well.

The Procurement Summit will deliver:

o    Educational seminars on the latest industry issues.

o    Key insights from industry thought leaders, practitioners & service providers.

o    First-hand case studies on the challenges of procurement leadership.

Accelerate Finance, Simplify Technology

experience_centreWith the explosion of data and data sources, financial departments have a greater demand for fast, accurate, accessible and up-to-date information but from a simplified source. Without the right technology data is useless.

This is where SAP HANA comes in. However, before companies can gain a better insight into their data and understand the simplifications, they will need to gain a better insight into HANA. Hence one of the reasons SAP have created their new Experience Centre.

The SAP Experience Centre is a fully interactive environment where visitors can experience SAP HANA and other SAP innovations first-hand and immerse themselves in the various, interactive scenarios which have been set up – from driving a Formula 1 car to using data to investigate and predict crime scenes.

Even though the Experience Centre is still a new concept, Invenio thought this would be an ideal venue for a Simplified Financials event. To make this event truly unique, Invenio made it as intimate as possible and hosted the first ever partner event to a select few within UK finance departments.

The event kicked off with breakfast at 9.30am and sharply progressed onto the first presentation by Varik Torsteinsen, Head of Innovation at SAP. He spoke about why the Experience Centre was created, how it can transform thinking and what really is SAP HANA.

SAP realises that it has an extremely powerful platform with HANA and is at the beginnings of investing in and creating thought leadership on how it will be able to be utilised in the future. For many organisations this will involve ‘thinking out of the box’ to consider the creation of services which were just not possible or affordable on the previous technology generation.

This followed onto a presentation of Invenio and SAP’s partnership where Invenio spoke about the considerable investment it has made into their HANA Lab  and how it could help organisations to gain from the HANA Platform including the facility to run proof of concepts using a  client’s own data.

The next presentation was by James Willis at SAP on Massive Simplifications on SAP Financials.

As companies seek to integrate their decision making with their data, they need to rely more on speed and have a clearer understanding of their transactional data. SAP Financials has been built to meet the increasing and evolving business needs of the finance departments. James led the delegates through the capabilities of the solution:

  • Provides a one-stop access to all financial and non-financial data
  • New on-the-fly capabilities for moving finance processing, such as month-end activities, from batch to real time
  • Innovative rapid planning and forecasting combined with predictive analysis to explore new business models and immediately assess potential effects on the bottom line
  • Enables flexible data drill-down to actionable information
  • Connections to business networks in real time to establish an integrated business ecosystem and help drive optimal collaboration with customers, suppliers, banks and government authorities
  • Ensures harmonised data without manual reconciliation

We then broke for lunch to prepare ourselves for the real fun part! An exclusive tour of the Experience SAP Centre.

The centre is split into 4 sections, we explored each of these as explained below. All of the delegates spent time testing out the different areas

THE EARTH

Exploding populations, devastating typhoons – the world is changing rapidly. The delegates came face-to-face with the challenges these factors present. SAP’s multi-sensory experience puts delegates at the heart of the story and takes them on a journey that can change lives for the better.

THE FORMULA 1 CAR

Data is a real game-changer in sport. In Formula 1 racing, the difference between winning and losing can be a millisecond.

McLaren trusts SAP HANA to provide critical real-time data and analytics. Helping the team make more informed decisions faster and each lap closer to perfection. Each delegate got their turn to race a real-life, Formula 1 car on the Abu Dhabi circuit.

CRIME ANALYSIS

In this room, the delegates took on the role of crime investigator to discover who has stolen a priceless piece of art in London. The delegates were able to use SAP’s predictive analytics to analyse past crimes and work through clues to predict future strikes.

DESIGN THINKING ROOM

This rooms enables organisations to look at their businesses differently using some of the latest innovations; cloud, in-memory computing and analytics. This high-tech centre can identify how to transform a business.

This event was a great experience and our delegate’s came away with a lot more knowledge and insight into SAP. To be the first to hear about our next event you can sign up to our mailing list by here Sign Up

45 Mile Bike Ride for Charity? Yes Please!

Matthew Hembrow Raises Awareness for the Princes Trust

Over the past 4 years Matthew Hembrow – Global Head for Media at Invenio and along with SAP, have rode in the UK’s Palace to Palace, Princes Trust Charity bike ride and this year was no exception.

Matthew rode along the 45 mile stretch from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle taking him just under 3 hours. Matthew was one of 4,000 cyclists who contributed to the already raised 1.1 million for the charity.

Matthew comments “I chose the princes trust because I saw two very different presentations from two young people who had explained how the money and support had changed their lives from near destitution and abusive lives to working with pride and even starting a business. Two genuinely moving presentations”.

The Prince’s Trust is a fantastic charity based in the UK and supports 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. The Prince’s Trust will help 58,000 young people into training, education or employment this year. However, there are currently nearly one million unemployed young people in the UK. Many of the young people helped by The Trust are in or leaving care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems, or they have been in trouble with the law.

Well done to all those who took part and raised money for such a good cause.

If it’s Not Simple, it is Not the Right Solution

Invenio at eWorld London, 2014

It goes without saying, it has been a tough few years for the procurement and finance departments. Especially during the recession. The focus within organisations turned towards the finance and procurement departments to significantly reduce costs within all areas of the business. We have said this before, ‘Time is money’ and nothing could be truer than in the procurement and finance functions. It still remains in many organisations that processes and systems are very manual, this can be a huge problem. It can mean time delays, manual input errors and frustrations for those involved. We still see these challenges in the adoption of an eProcurement solutions within organisations today:

  • An inability to integrate with existing ERP and Procurement systems
  • Complex and unintuitive user interface
  • An inability to on-board suppliers (in large numbers)

On a positive note, we can now see that suppliers are more flexible and willing to work alongside organisations to help them achieve their goals. This opens up a new collaborated working environment which can save organisations time and money. This is where Invenio’s P2P tool comes in. It can reduce manpower time from 80% to just 20%, how does it do this? By swapping the work load onto the suppliers.

Here is an example of a typical scenario:

supplier2

Now flipped over to your suppliers:

SAP_Supplier

Account Director, Kedar Patwardhan and Program Manager, Jayawant Patil recently spoke at the eWorld Purchasing and Supply Conference. Both Kedar and Jayawant have a wealth of experience in the procurement sector. Kedar gave the delegates an insight into the reasons why SAP users have avoided a new procurement solution and how Invenio’s P2P solution can overcome these.

  • It’s too much work:  Vendor self-service, moving the admin load to the suppliers.
  • I hate these SAP screens: User friendly and mobile application with minimum data entry fields and clicks.
  • Can I spend the money I don’t have?  No, it is tightly integrated with the budgeting process, it can stop commitment and invoice posting if there is no approved budget.
  • But I didn’t approve this: Easy to understand and easy to manage workflows with set approval levels and audit trails are in place, so that no document can be posted without prior approval.
  • Am I choosing the right solution? Significantly cheaper than other solutions and fully integrated into your existing SAP solution.

Thanks to Kedar and Jayawant, for hosting such an informative session! If you missed the session on the day, or did not attend the event and would be interested in viewing the presentation, you can register for our webinar here.

After the success of Kedar’s eWorld presentation, he has been asked back to present again at the eWorld Procurement Summit in November. The event is free and you can register to attend here

Invenio – Three fantastic days at SAPPHIRE NOW

Well Invenio are no longer a SAPPHIRE NOW ‘newbie’… And our first experience of the world’s premier business technology conference was certainly a good one.

The marketing team arrived in Orlando on the Saturday, and by the Monday we were raring to go. We headed over to Americas second largest exhibition centre – Orange Country Convention Centre, to get the ball rolling and to prepare the finishing touches to our stand.

Before long – Tuesday morning had arrived, the rest of the Invenio team had touched down in Orlando, and by 8am the whole team were present at booth 1807 amongst 25,000 other SAP enthusiasts ready to kick start the event!

So what happened at SAPPHIRE NOW?…Here are a couple of Invenio’s key takeaways

Interest in Procure to Pay:
After showcasing our very own procure to pay portal; Invenio’s P2P Solutions – at SAPPHIRE NOW, we discovered a great deal of interest.
The Invenio’s P2P Solutions software helps companies who are using SAP to dramatically cut costs in non-revenue-generating purchasing activities. Meaning companies can increase their bottom line.

The delegates who visited our stand found this a compelling proposition, and as explained by Bill McDermott in his keynote session – many people were seeing a real life example of… “Simplify everything so we can do anything.” In the same way Universal Music did when they implemented Invenio’s P2P Solutions.

HANA is everywhere:
One thing was made very clear at SAPPHIRE and that was that HANA is EVERYWHERE!
Many of the keynote sessions involved HANA presentations or examples of how customers had used HANA successfully – giving them the opportunity to ‘share their story.’
Across many of the exhibitions stands lay HANA demos, whitepapers and discussions around how SAP and their partners can help. It was clear that HANA is a major focus for SAP and its partners right now.

Invenio are very much supporting the HANA revolution and have created their very own HANA Lab. The HANA Lab allows prospected users to test real-time scenarios and also it will enable Invenio to deepen their knowledge.

Invenio has just been awarded the SAP EMEA Regional Partner Excellence Award (Database and Technology) for the HANA Laboratory and the work they did with Universal Music Group.

In the following few weeks we will be running a series of blogs to talk about further takeaways and verdicts from SAPPHIRE Now. Look out for the following topics:

  • SAP wants to become simple
  • FREE SAP Fiori and Personas
  • SAP’s partnerships with hardware Vendors and platform partnerships with eBay

In the meantime if you missed out or would like to re-cap on the highlights from SAPPHIRE NOW, here are a few blogs which we recommend:

• Day 1 recap: What Happened on Day 1 of #SAPPHIRENOW?
• Day 2 recap: SAP HANA filled day at #SAPPHIRENOW
• Day 3 recap: SAPPHIRE NOW, Day 3: #SAP #HANA Changes Everything

We would like to give a special mention to our three prize draw winners from the event:

Brian Docili from Technicolor
Gretchen Shaw from Baker Mckenzie
Alex Glatman from RBS citizens

Speaking on behalf of the Invenio team after three days of manning our sponsored booth at Sapphire in Orlando, we all returned with a fresh perspective. The whole experience was both motivational and revitalising.

Thank you for visiting!
